From Falling Leaves to Faith That Stands

Fall has fallen and all things fall are the very reasons why it’s my favorite — the flavors, the foliage, the small town fairs — it love it all because fall is everywhere!

And like many things I write about in this space, my love for all things fall is just another reminder of God’s love for us all.

So, three takeaways I’m taking with me on my daily walk with God as I behold the beauty of yet another fall.

(I encourage you to take them with you, too, and pray we’ll both be changed by His unchanging truth)…

❤️Seasons will continue to change, but He will forever stay the same.❤️

  • “For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed.” (Malachi 3:6, ESV)

  • “God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?” (Numbers 23:19, ESV)

  • “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8, ESV)

🧡Changing leaves will eventually fall, but His love lifts us up and sees us through it all.🧡

  • “For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” (Ephesians 3:14-19 ESV)

💛Temperatures cool and daylight fades, but Jesus, the Light of the world, will never grow dim or lead us astray.💛

  • “The unfolding of your words gives light; it imparts understanding to the simple.” (Psalm 119:130, ESV)

  • “Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’” (John 8:12, ESV)

  • “Jesus answered, ‘Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world.’” (John 11:9 ESV)

So even more than a good PSL, apple crisp, or autumn walk that’s brisk and crisp, it’s the changes happening all around us that serve as reminders of the beauty of God’s love that surrounds us.

❤️Seasons will continue to change, but He will forever stay the same.

🧡Changing leaves will eventually fall, but His love lifts us up and sees us through it all.
